Got into Nascar Technical Institute
Well thought I should share the news with everyone. After hearing about how transamkid got accepted in college I figure I share you with my acceptance. The program is 15 months straight and I start aug 2008. A branch school of UTI (universal technical institute). Is located in the heart of nascar in Mooresville,NC. Get a 10 day break for X-mas and just non stop classes. I have a local family friend that worked as a crew chief for Joey McCarthy in the North busch series nascar. While I am going to school, He will try and help me get into one of the shops as like a clean up boy to get a start in a shop. fall 2006 I spent a weekend at Limerock park in CT working on Joey McCarthys nascar team he ended up with a 2nd place finish. I was allowed to work in the pits but just not allowed over the wall because I wasnt offically part of the team. I am not offically into the school until they see my high school dipolam. I dont see any reason they wouldnt at the current time the report card is filled with A's and B's.

congrats.
if you get any electives, get into the chassis side of the sport. especially if they have anything for sports cars or road racing. there is a serious shortage of good chassis people in pretty much every form of motorsports right now

Way to go bud!! That should be great experience. And good luck with getting into a race shop. You will have a blast working for a nascar team. I worked a few Busch and Arca races in 95 and had the time of my life.

Well here's an update just got off the phone with a woman from the education department of NTI and she recieved my packet of teacher recomendation letters and my own letter. She liked the fact that I am in an "extensive" english honor program. But not that she knows but this year I am not in english honors anymore.

im not sure exactly...but i know it was the nascar program and as far as him working hes stupid...because after he graduated he never pursued into the nascar field and ended up working at a small time auto shop and now he works at home depot so it was kind of a waste unless he decides to pick back up...
but as for u, if ur passionate enough about it and u follow through im sure youl get a job in no time..ive heard UTI is very good at hooking people up
