Bubble flaring tool
Anyone know where I can buy one besides from Napa for $100+? or possibly loan me if you're in northern NJ? I'm going to call my local parts store tomorrow but if they can't help me out I'm stuck to ordering it from Sears online or somewhere else online. What really hurts is Harbor Freight has a Dble. flaring tool set for $9!

After much searching on TGO Ted and I were quite sure that 84+ GMs used them, prior to that was the double flare.
Is that wrong?

I have no clue
I just didnt think they used ISO until later. its pretty easy to tel the two apart, so I have no reason to doubt either of you.

Ted, try hitting up a foreign garage. Inverted are common but bubble are inherent to Germen cars. Any decent foreign related garage should be able to flare the line for you for a small amount.

unfortunately the line is on the car and I didn't feel like fishing it all out so I need the tool. At least now I'll be able to run my own lines lol

Sucks, but its cool that you will have the tool. You'll be the envy of your neighborhood! Seriously though, I dont think any auto parts store sells a tool for that flare.

heres a funny story about flaring tools. we have the one from napa...my gf blows a trans cooler line and needs a new one. went to the zone and theyre like "thats a special order part, napa should be able to get it"...go to napa, guy says" is it the high pressure line...we cant get that, go to pontiac". go to pontiac, guy says" ok we can get it...85 bucks" pay 85 . pick it up the next day..ITS 25 FEET of stainless 1/4" tubing.
so i get my money back, go to napa, and the guy says "they sold you WHAT?!?! you cant just BUILD a high pressure line. JESUS CHRIST ITLL BLOW MAN!" go back to the zone, they have tubing with one side already flared and has a pressure fitting...$5.00....made my own line and its held ever since. build my own brake lines too....
sorry for the long post. its just that when i tell the guys at the part sroe this, they think im insane for attempting it. what do they think the factory uses, magic flared tubing???
HOLY CRAP THIS IS LONG. sorry guys
