i went back and forth with that decision.. decided that multimedia is like pictures for the sake of pictures, this is pictures that go along with something new and exciting.. so i put it in the lounge
thanks for the compliments though!

i think that is pretty damn awesome for your first paint job. did you use different intensity in certain areas? it looks like it could be the lights, but then when the tank is outside it still shows like you held the gun further away from the area being painted, closer in some areas. is that blue or black for the overlapped flame? what kind of equipment were you using? what kind of gun? how many coats of each color?
you should feel proud. i know guys that have been painting for years that couldn't pull that off.

The cobalt blue base was already sprayed and prepped for me when I got there, so I'm not sure how many coats of that, but I sprayed 3 coats of orion silver and 2 coats of tangerine. The tangerine is very even, its possible I was closer in some areas just because I'm new at it, but I did shadow aroudn the edges in front as well as the shadow in the over lapping flame. For the shadows I mixed silver, tangerine, some purple and very little black to give it a better feel than straight black.
As for guns, my airbrush is an Iwata HP-CS, but the spray gun belongs to the shop I painted at. Next time I talk to them I'll ask what kind of gun it is.
and paul, my striping isn't up to par yet, i didn't want to ruin my own work, so he got a local guy to stripe it. Supposedly was happening this afternoon, I'll have to call to see how it came out.

you should airbrush that airlid that some nice guy gave you, or make a stone picture for the nice guy that gave it to you

hmmm, i wonder who that nice guy might be...
it's a shame, but she could turn out some serious work if she could concentrate on just painting. but then it would be a full time thing, less enjoyable, etc. better to keep it as a hobby, but keep your feet wet.
and striping is another art form that needs constant work to stay at a certain level of quality. you can't work at striping for a year, get really good at it, then take a year off and come back to it and expect to be as good as you were the year before.
you put my mailbox to shame, melissa. the different levels of paint thickness actually work to bring more depth to the flames. i like your idea about the black, too. nice job, all around.
