My buddy bought a 1990 Jimmy about a month ago and got a good deal on it, but only had one flaw...the rear floor pans. He wanted it to be ready for my buddies bachelor party this past weekend where we were going to end up on Island Beach State Park fishing and he didnt want to be driving getting sand in the truck. I unfortunately do not have any finished pictures yet because I finished the floors at 3 AM one morning and he wanted to have the truck into his work (Dodge Dealership) that day so he could put undercoating on the floor. I will get some pics of it the way it is now though.
When I cut the floor out I saw the floor braces were completely shot too, so I had to custom make some patches for those braces.
The floors are solid, the thing runs great and was awesome on the beach this weekend.
My buddy was doing the cutting on the passengers side and learned a very good lesson on the stock floor sound deadening....make sure you pick it all out before ya start cutting because it is VERY flammable.
It was actually in the back deck area and one of the embers lit that thing on fire. All work stopped and I found my fire extinguisher and a spare just in case.
No I dont yet...It was 3am and I didnt want to be out there welding any longer. We packed it up and next time I saw it, it already had the interior finished and the undercoating done. I will ask if he took any though, because he may have. I only tacked the floors into place, and made them nice and tight he picked up the Mig gun for the first time ever and went to town and did alot of the filling in of the tack welds. He did a good job for his first time ever welding. It held 5 people and three days worth of food/fishing gear/coolers on the way to the beach and back...so it held up okay ha ha.
