Saw something that made me want to cry last night....

So I was poking around on Craigslist like I like to do on a daily basis and some guy in Hillsborough had a number of classic cars up for sale for $1,000 each. Turns out he lives a mile away from me so I decided to take a ride over.
This guy literally has about 10-12 classic cars rotting away to nothing out back on his farm. He has 3 67 Mustangs, a 68 Mustang, 72 Nova, Mid 60's Impala SS, Mid 60's Rambler, 56 Buick Special, an old Opal, an old Maverick, a 64 or 65 Catalina, and about 4 late 60's pickups back there. I don't think a single one is worth restoring at this point.

Apparently his father collected them all in hopes of doing something with them and they just sat for 20 years in the field on the farm. There isn't a single one now that doesn't have body rot all the way through. I don't even think there's much in the way of good parts left. And this guy thinks he's going to get a grand for each of them....the Mustangs aren't even worth $300 a piece. The only car that may be restorable there was the Nova.

It's people like that who make me sick....ruining pieces of history by plain old neglect.

What a shame. Reading the list of cars he has was painful. These people obviously never had the resources to do restorations, why they wasted their money or time obtaining these cars in the first place is beyond me.

Paul, do you know the story with that lot in Somerville (off of Main St. near Gaston ave)?
I see a few GTOs and Impalas in there, and I can't imagine that place not getting hit up by tons of people with cruise night being there.

For all the times I've driven past there in the last 10 years I've never once stopped in to ask.....I figured a million other people must have already and if there were deals to be had they'd be gone by now.

Tim and I have been to that lot in Somerville a few times to look around, and have talked to the owner once. He is asking too much for some of those cars, but others seem like they are priced fairly well.

On the corner of Farm Road and Triangle Road in Hillsborough, there's a Dodge / Plymouth... something rusting in the front yard. Kinda looks like an old Challenger or Barracuda. It's black. Anyone else see that? Has anyone approached the owner for a price?

I guess The original Triangle is now Old Triangle then? I used to see that car a lot, I think it has moved a few times so it may be a long term project for the owner.

In the Pathmark parking lot in Hillsborough there are two Camaros for sale.
One is a 98 1LE Camaro, asking 16K. The other is a 91 Camaro RS, 6cyl, asking over $3200, with 88k miles. Both look like they are in decent shape, however the third gen is over priced.
