Iam I meking a good deal

Somone wants to trade me a 95 trans am with a 6speed, t-tops, and lt1 (which is currently out dissasembeled cuz it spun a bearing) for a 72 nova (roller not motor or trans) I have for sale. I bought the nova for $1500. Should I make this trade. The ta has 160k but is very clean. also trans has been rebuilt and so has the posi 4.11 rear. Should I go for it. Im thikin of making it stroker just because it would be too easy to do with the motor out

Double verify the rear end and tranny. Does he have paperwork on the rebuilds of those components?
If all goes well DEF stroke the motor out go forged just incase you decide to spray down the line
Hell if you have the cash pick up an ls1(seen one on craigslist complete for 1500) stroke that out and slap it in
& That is a great deal imo if, like said before, the tranny and rear are in good order.

Def check out the chassis, drivetrain, and interior. Does the computer work? Did the gauges work before engine removal? Hows the paint? Tires and wheels good? Brakes? How much do you wanna throw at the engine to get it running? How did he spin the bearing? ( And what does that imply about the rest of the drivetrain?)

whatever the market is willing to pay. if its for cheap or a trade, i would rather have the 95 to drive everyday than the 72 since many things have changed through the years. car looks real clean but i still can't tell how it is mechanically. i am guessing he pulled the motor then reinstalled the k member? i don't think you can pull the motor out from the top unless he stripped it to a short block. i would really be concerned that the car was beat on and such. but if you have the time, money, and resources, it could be quite a steal

He also has a 1980 z-28 orig 4-speed car that he is considering trading, its fairly complete and in good shape. Ill post some pics up of that once he sends them Im leaning more towards the 80 as it would be much easier to get on the road. He pulled the motor from the top, I asked

i am almost positive it won't clear as a long block. maybe just the intake and valve covers off, but thats sketchy.

Its a $1,500 car for a $1,500 car. Looks like a fine trade. Both need work. One may need more money to make it drive then the other but that depends on who getting what. Thats a tough trade. Both are rides i would drive. Both are in equal conditions to make it the same price. If u want the nova gone and you want to get a trans am then its a deal. But if you want a different vehicle then dont hassle.

Not as far as I know....LT1s use all specific parts.

I would go for the 80 4 speed car. What does that need to be on the road?
