car cover

whats a good cover for lt1 camaro's? the car will be outside in the weather, so something rather durable that withstands uv as well. no bubbles either

any other suggestions on winter storage? car won't move until spring. thanks!

Get a Wolf fitted cover. I had one on my bird a few years ago before I moved and got a garage. They also sell cable lock sets for them too if you want to lock it up.

what are you kidding? i just cleaned the rims for the first time in a couple months. i was hosing it off though in the rain never had car wash on me. i just bought a wolf fitted cover with lock though. it will be under a canopy too. probably on jack stands. wheels going in my room so don't even try.

no acutally i plan on doing heads/cam maybe a 12 bolt if i have extra cash and find one cheap. but i am pulling the battery and putting it on a trickle. most fluids will be drained anyways. really just want uv and some weather protection. hopefully get my z06 brakes on too! maybe cosmetics? time will tell

they have outdoor bubbles, it comes with tie downs so wind isnt an issue and they are a solid color to block UV rays...

the bubble is easy. the bottom black piece is tough and withstands gas oil etc. you lay down the black part and drive onto it, you then un-roll the clear thick plastic over the car, basically like a normal cover. Then on each side starting in the front, there are 2 acrylic zippers(so they wont scratch) that zip along the bottom to seal it. Once zipped up, theres a fan in the front, you just plug it in to a 120v outlet and in like 10 min or so, its inflated. It constantly circulates are so you dont need to worry about moisture or corrosion. With cast aluminum parts, they get a white powdery oxidization on them but in here, my parts still look like the day i bolted them on. I can even take a basket ball and throw it full force at my car and it wont touch the car, hell, even if i learn onto the side, it takes effort to touch the car. They advertise it saying you can drop a 5lb hammer on top and itll bouch off, not touching the vehicle.

If the power goes out, it just slowly deflates, but once power comes back, it reinflates. You can buy the optional trickel charger to charge your car battery at the same time, and then if power goes out, it switches over to use your vehicle battery to power the bubble for several days. then when power returns, it switches back and recharges your battery again.

I can't offer as to which brand is better then others. I have a calif. car cover my my camaro, and from the Z24. The Z24 sat outside and the cover held up great. Make sure you get one that has eyelets so you can secure it.

I do know I had a cheap-o on one of my cars. it didn't fit real tight, from it flapping in the wind it worked like sand paper over the winter and rubber the paint off the roof anf trunk lid.

When you put the car away throw some dryer sheets ( for softening clothes ) in the car, it will keep the mice out and also make the car smell dryer fresh in the spring.

nice idea with the dryer sheets! will do. i also got a teather cable with lock so the cover should stay secure. it is a fitted cover as well. thanks.

i bought a few several years ago when my SS had the blown motor, and it sat for over a year. I threw a set in along with putting a second set in my 85 Iroc. To re-use them after time, you "bake" them in an oven to dry them back up. Well worth it in my opinion, especially if the car will be outside.
