credit card help
guys i think i bought into a fraud. this is the website:
www.shopdigitaldirect.com
and this is what i found on them:
http://thoughts-of-dave.blogspot.com...irect-aka.html
the story is as follows: I ordered a camera for a friend in australia. i put it on my credit card. the guy calls me after i place order and offers me a deal on a better lens for more money, aussie accepts, and i put 1900 on my credit card. the guy tells me it will ship out immediately (he is in brooklyn) and i haven't recieved it yet, that was Oct 10th. I've never filed fraud report but what should be my steps tomorrow if i call this guy tomorrow and he doesn't refund me my money? since the reorder happened over the phone, i was never emailed a reciept or invoice. will mastercard refund me my money if i file a complaint?

the only proof of authorization to bill the card would be for the original order. the over the phone sale, unless recorded, doesnt show proof of authorization to bill the card, which means final say comes down to the card holder in those predicaments. i would call the credit card company and have them check the original online authorization against the total billed, which will not reflect the same prices, and send off the red flag to cancel the whole order all together.

Def write a letter to your CC company if it happens, and then call. Thats what I did when I had problems with the fairings for my motorcycle and I was refunded my money immediately.

guys... need more help with the same issue. i called the credit card company and they gave me a conditional refund on Oct. 20th. on october 21st, i recieved the product BUT the invoice was dated for the 20th, the day i filed the complaint. i did not sign for the package. now i don't want to return it yet and get screwed with either them denying i sent it back or only refunding part of my money. my aunt suggested holding onto it until the credit card company instructs me on what to do, but i'm not sure what will happen. i am a college student and can't afford to have anything bad on my credit when i go to apply for grad school loans. what do you guys think? will the credit card company get upset if they find out i didn't tell them i recieved it? it is currently just sitting in teh corner of my room not being used in case i need to send it back.
thanks much guys

I'd let them know you got it.. i'm actually surprised you did.
Open it and inspect it as well. Make sure you got everything you ordered

Well, if you ordered it and it came, what is the problem now? What am I missing here?

was buying it for a friend, it took too long so he went out and bought it elsewhere (it was for vacation, guy said it would be shipped within the week). he is willing to pay return fees but i'm trying to get around it cause its really not his fault.

Maybe write 'return to sender' on it and give it back to the mailman. Works for the stupid dvd club (assuming it is unopened).

then they might deny recieving it. at least if i hold onto it, i have some sort of collateral. ya dig? in essence, i'm asking if i will be penalized for not notifying the credit card company that i received the package. i'm quite certain i don't want to send the package back unless the credit card company okays me to do so. then its a matter of, should i volunteer the information or wait and see what pans out

Don't take any chances. Call your CC company and tell them you received the item. I believe this would be considered credit card fraud, correct? Not only would it hurt your credit if they found out, it will definately put a hurting on your background record when applying for jobs, if you do some jail time.

Definitely let them know you got it but I'm not sure how you should go about returning it. Probably go to the UPS store or something and get your own tracking number and make sure someone has to sign for it when you're returning on it. cover your own ass here.
Try to return it from the info that's usually on their website. If not contact them and let them know that's what you want to do
