Late 2000 Ls1 with the 241 heads....

So today found out after doing my spark plugs and wires in an hour and 15 mins with help from a friend and by removing passenger side coil pack that i have 241 heads. thus...

I have a 2000 trans am with
241 heads ( heads that came on 01-02 Ls1)
Ls1 intake
98-00 cam ( i would asumme being the fact i dont have an ls6 intake because that didnt come out till 01)

Didnt realize they put the 241 heads on the late 00's. Any one else have same thing?

And if you ask i put in magnecor header wires and acdelco iridiums.

Late 2000 would be consiered a 2001 wouldnt it? I know they wont show it on the year of the car but the changes may have been made at the factory by that point. To them it would be considered changes for 2001.

well im not no know it all but for it to be a 2001 it would have the Ls6 intake and different egr set up. reason being if it had the Ls6 intake they would have the less aggressive cam in it. the 98-00's had a little more intake and exhaust then the 01-02's. correct me if i wrong

If GM was phasing in a new head casting then there's no reason for them not to use it at the end of the model year run. Something like the LS6 intake with no EGR they would not be able to do without proper EPA certification.

did some home work. 853 and 241 heads flow the same, has same specs, just a different casting. thats it. 241 heads were being phased in late 00 models.

Ls1
808 heads 97-98
853 heads 99-00
241 heads late 00's -02

only way to get better flow is 243 heads (lS6 heads)
