Anyone ride a motorcycle in this weather?

I was on my way home from work last night when a guy pulled out in front of me on a motorcycle. I guess it was his only transportation but it didn't hit me for a few seconds. He didn't even look like he had any heavy duty clothing to keep warm either. I guess it's the same as riding around on a snowmobile, but it's just not something you're used to seeing when it's 12 degrees out.

My dad rides all year round he doesnt own a car. His harley has almost 100k miles and its a 2000 road king He ha for 8 years now. He just moved to cali a 4 months ago tho

helllllll no!!! you need the right tires to do it, sport bike tires are like being on ice when they are cold. i wouldnt do it because your tire contact is the size of a silver dollar if that, not to mention 12 degrees must feel like -40 when you doing 50mph.

The coldest I rode was 37 degrees for about a hour and ten minutes. That sucked.

Just thinking about riding in this cold makes me shiver. I seen a Goldwing with a sidecar down in Washington twp. yesterday. Granted it has heat, and he had heated clothing and all. But ... WHY!?!

my father used to ride when it was cold out, but he had a complete heated outfit that plugged into the bike to keep warm. boots, pants, jacket, gloves.

I rode my bike all year round from 1990-95 unless it was snowing or raining cause I didnt have a car.I remember plenty of trips with frostbitten fingers,Hugging the engine at red lights for heat and frozen face to the point where I couldnt even move my mouth.I used to ride with the faceshield up just about all the time.

As soon as the salt hit the ground I was done. Cold sport bike tires are about as useful as those plastic wheels on a Power Wheels. Anything below 37* is asking for trouble.

Ive never had any problems with my tires in the cold weather.Then again my bike is an 80`s vintage sport bike.
