				Fastest car to street

So what is the fastest car you would drive as a DD?
None of the BS street car vs. race car nonsense, just asking if an 11 sec car would be a DD for you or maybe a 10 sec car?

In my opinion, anything faster than mid or low 12s is the limit for a DD. Anything faster than that, youre just asking for trouble

If we had better roads around here, I wouldn't have too hard of a time DD the bird but with how low it is with long tubes, subframes and the stiffer suspension, it kinda makes it a little uncomfortable but I am sure there are streetable 10 - 11 second cars that are better suited for daily driving, I just wouldn't trust myself to drive a car like that every day.

I've DD 2 C4 vettes with a Z51 suspension. If I could manage that a stock F-body would feel like riding in a cadillac .

Maybe 13 second car at the fastest...any more I think its too easy to get in trouble. It becomes really easy to speed, and difficult to drive in hazardous conditions. It really depends on the car too. Are we talking about something bought stock, or something that would be modified?

I love DD my car. But I would DD a 10 sec car. I would just make it set up for the street. With turbo cars you can easily get a decent cruiser/10 sec track car.

I went between 11 and 12, but there is lots of gray area in there. My Firechicken goes solid 11.7's -11.8' and is an easy daily driver all motor, nothing crazy. But take an old school muscle car that goes 11's on the motor and I bet its a completely different animal that might not really be all that much fun to DD (think cam, carb, compression and no creature comforts etc). Nitrous skews the curve wildy and turbos and other forms of assisted breathing do the same. So it depends more on the combo than on the pure number IMO.

It really really depends on the car. Take an 10 sec car. How many people here have 10 sec cars here or driven one? Probably race suspension, loud, horrible gas milage, and probably missing some interior parts.
But look at a car like the ZR1. A flick of a switch, you go from local cruser car, to a full on sports car. Its engine is civil around town, but can turn into a monster.
It comes down 100% to the car itself.
You could daily drive a ZR1, if you had the funds, but I would be hard pressed to daily drive a 1-4th gen Fbody running 10's.
