				cut question?

ok well i was working on the z today and while breaking the back bolt on the passanger exhaust manifold loose the wrench slipped and my hand slid across the nice machined edge on the cylinder head.
needless to say i have a pretty good cut on my pinky finger.

it stopped bleeding after a few mins but i was wondering if there was any kind of medical type glue i could buy from a local store like walmart or something?

shoot some GE silicone over it, and hold it shut with duct tape if you don't want to use a band-aid

			It works. No lie.
 Does the cut hurt?

If so, don't worry about it.

well if its a deep cut then you need stitches or staples no way around it, super glue will work, its not the best but there are some liquid skin stuff that you put over the cut and it seals it but then again its not good for a deep cut.

If it is a deep cut, I would be wary of sealing it up... gangrene is no fun.

dont worry about gluing it together. Just wrap it up, use a regular old band-aid. Just keep it clean and clean it often, wash it out with hydrogen peroxide a couple times a day and let it heal.
I hacked my middle finger tip and right through my fingernail on my trans yoke a while back, it was quite a cut, took about 3 months for everything to heal and the nail to grow back, but no infections/stitches/glue.

or if you really want to glue it, PVC glue works well too. It dries quick, and makes a skin that you can peel off later.

Just be careful... I cut my index finger and it looked like a nice little cut until you let it go and the tip of the finger just hung off.... muscle damage is no fun.

If it's deep and right at a bend go get it stitched if you have insurance. Cut my hand right under my thumb a few weeks back and eventhough it didn't bleed I went and had it stitched....this way I could continue to work without it constantly splitting back open. 10 days with stitches in....never any real discomfort, and now they're out and it's healed properly.

If it's on a bend glue won't do anything. Other than that gluing is fine, do not just leave it open. Make sure it's clean and dry before you glue it.
...also you can't get gangrene from gluing it.
Where on your finger is the cut.

Post back up, I date a nurse...I'll post back up with advice on what you should do.
