ECU swap Cobalt SS

If I wanted to swap my ECU on my 06 Cobalt. Does anything different have to been done once it is swapped? It should just be able to start and go right? Its just an even switch from an old one to a new one.

It might be. I'm not sure if those engines have the crank position sensor, but on my 2000 SS I ended up getting a check engine light for the crank position sensor needing to be synchronized or something like that. So there could be something odd like that pop up.

crank relearn....yeah that might be a problem. doubt its just a switch. if you purchased a new one, it should specify what kind of programing it needs first.

oh and vin if its not already programmed in.

I got an ECU off another 2006 Cobalt SS 2.4 with the same exact options with 17,000 miles. It should be fine to install since its the same exact car and specs right?

i can't say i'm coming from specific experience but the vin won't match, which is checked during the current obd-II inspections in jersey and it may need a crank relearn.
