lq4 flexplate keeps breaking

got a 2004 gmc 3500 van 6.0L that is going to be on its 3rd flexplate. i was wondering if there is anything aftermarket that would be stronger than the crap stock ones that keep breaking? it would have to be pre-balanced. unless anyone knows of issues in this area and the correct fix? just seems ridiculous for it to keep breaking them. there is another van in the fleet that has the same problem, original broke at 20k

thanks for any info!

Service bulletin released in Feb. for your flex-plate problem. 08-06-01-023A , says replace flex-plate and install spacers and new (longer) bolts. If you had if fixed prior to Feb 09 they may have improved the parts.

If you had it repaired at a GM dealer the last two times I would call GM Customer Assistance. You would be surprised at some of the stuff customers get out of them.
