wow, thats a "Super Bettle" with the 1600cc motor. Didn't know that had enough power to tow anything. Hell, thats the same displacement as my bike!

thats a pretty cool idea. not too sure about the structural integrity of the vw beetle roof, but its a nice concept. I like how you turn it around

Two big problems with that trailer and hitch rig: first besdes compressing the suspension and exceeding the load rating of the tires. the "hitch assembly" attaches to the rain gutters, secondly, regardles of the bug's immense HP (48), the engine is air cooled and draws the air from the area just beneath the rear window. Pretty sure this set-up would limit or block too much of the normal airflow. In 30+ years as a VW owner and hobbiest, I've never seen this rig- thankfully.
