Resetting Engine computer?

i change the oil and oil filter in my friends 2008 altima. But the computer still sais that it wasnt changed and my only idea is to disconnect the battery to reset it. whats the right way to do this?

use the funny square button behind the steering wheel to go to settings. go to maintenance, then reset both oil and filter.

you can also change the mileage interval or turn the reminder off. don't disconnect the battery to reset the light, thats newbish

Before you dick around with the battery, did you check the owner's manual?
