Would you buy an xbox 360 in 2012?
Considering both the 360 and PS3 have been out for quite a while now, is it worth dropping the $$ on either system when the next generation could be right around the corner? The latest system I have is PS2 lol, and I'm possibly thinking about upgrading, so should I buy one now or wait?

IIRC, Sony made a comment that the PS3 has a ideal designed life span of a decade.
Being that it was released in late 2006, according to that, a "PS4" will not debut until 2016.
Hence why the PSVita released at the CES will interact with PS3 consoles.

I just got a new 360, can't complain, every piece of technology is disposable, so you won't ever win.

Def. Consoles are pretty much computers anymore so they are very capable but technology moves so fast, you could be buying an atari 
I play my 360 at least a few times a week. Get xbox live and play with FRIENDS!

Yes. Just the apps alone make it worthwhile. Netflix is the only thing I watch since cable is a rip off.

The only games I ever played were car oriented or sports games. Madden, Nascar, etc are available on both consoles but Forza is the deal breaker so if I get a new system it will be a 360.

Buy a used Xbox360.
I bought mine with a 1 year warranty for $100 or $150 in the winter of 2010. I got the hard drive for $40. Came with a remote as well.
I actually traded it in for a high def xbox. I got a free remote out of it and a spare hard drive lol.

get an xbox 360. ps3's are cool but trash online and the xbox experience is just a lot more enjoyable. on a sidenote i saw you like sports games...the xbox is the best place for them because when you combine an EA Game (already shaky servers) and put them on the ps3 you might as well be playing them in slow motion. im not even joking about that.
also i mean why not get a 360, they just made a new version of NFL Blitz on xbox live arcade for 15 bucks  its the ****

Xbox 360 all the way!! Been on Xbox live for 8 yrs or so and never had any issues at all unlike my PSN online account!! You get what you pay for!!

Buy a PS3. PS3 = Blu Ray, X-box = DVD = fail.
I use my PS3 as a media station, blu ray movies, netflix, streaming music and video from my PC.

PS3 is vastly superior technology to the 360. If you're gonna get one, it's a smarter call to drop the money on a PS3
