Military Guys Step In...

I'm working on my first fiction novel and while doing heavy research, did not find something online - spent about 4 hours searching for it.

Where is the nearest military base (to NJ) that has a tank firing range? I was under the impression Ft Drum has one, but couldn't find anything to confirm. I know Ft Knox has the armor training school and there are armored divison HQ in TX and KS.

Anyone help me out on this info?

tank? hmm. i do not know exactly. but i would say yes. I've been there several times and to see tanks on maneuvers is very rare. I have seen Bradleys firing at dix but maybe just a mounted 50 cal.

Ft Drum in upstate ny doesn't have tanks at all but most large bases have the capability.

My buddy's dad was a company Sgt for the NJ NG , retiring about 20 years ago - they used to drill at Ft Drum - he was in tank maintenance. Figured they might still be doing something up there.

Still looking...

Just don't park it there or someone might steal it...
