Its the redline. Do a search for hot wheel red line. Each one goes for 700+

Holy hell, that looks just like one I have that I got from my Uncle except mine is blue with black interior. It was my favorite toy as a kid because the hood opened and the suspension had HUGE travel. Mine is all scratched up though . Wonder how much it's worth in "2 generations worth of usage."
If I find it I'll post up the picture.

That's nothing. I've seen some really rare ones sell for over $14,000. Some of these collectors are nuts. But if you have the money and you don't have that particular item, you have to pay what it takes to get it.

i know some of you think it is jsut a toy. but i have a few hundred toys that size in my f-body collection. the hong kong pieces didn't sell well at all and most ended up lost/destroyed/thrown out as happens with any childrens toy.
truth is that over time everything becomes collectable. when people with money get involved collectables become expensive.
i will keep growing my collection at yard sales and flea markets. so far teh most i have spent on a single car was $8. i set a personal limit of $20 a long time ago, but haven't found anything that pushed it yet.

later
