Project "Rainy Day Engine Swap" progress
Well, its 12:40 and I have everything disconnected off the motor and tranny in the truck. It's ready to get yanked and dropped back into the camaro where is belongs 8) . I'm just taking a little breather right now, that and there is no one around right now to help me take the hood off, so I can't pull the motor yet. Stay tuned for the dramatic conclusion of "Rainy Day Engine Swap"

My dad and I tried to do a 'rainy day cam swap' because my friend gave me a cam for my birthday last week. We took EVERYTHING apart; radiators off, power steering, alternator, distributer, intake, took the pushrods out cause we're changing the lifters too, timing cover, timing chain, get the original cam 1/2 way out, and I was looking at the new lifters box.
hmm, funny, these dont look like roller lifters. I open the box, they're not. My friend told comp specificially that i had a zz4 thats basically stock. They sent him a flat tappet cam plain old hydraulic instead of a hydraulic roller that ALL zz4s have.
soooooo, the project is temporarily put on hold til i get the cam back to him and stuff. I feel bad cause the cost of a roller cam is the reason i kept saying 'don't get me a cam for my birthday' and now i guess he's seeing why. I'll probably make up the difference in the cost cause i really dont want him spending that much on me.

Heh Ian, when I swung by to give you the money your mom said you were an idiot. LOL Something about the last swap you did was in the rain also.

well, its all over and the camaro is running. Yeah, I am an idiot and the last motor swap was also done in the pouring rain. I guess I'm just lucky like that. Anyway, I'm waiting for the possible phone calls tomorrow because I didn't get it running until about 2 in the morning .

yeah it is. I blew up the 305 that was in the truck one thanksgiving weekend, so we had to put the 355 from the camaro into the truck so I could get back to school. It's been in there ever since, but now its back where it belongs 8).

Major projects always seem to get done in the worst weather, right **insert name of everyone who has helped me with my car**?
Glad to hear the Camaro is complete again Ian, hopefully you will have better luck selling it, or maybe get a surprise windfall of cash so you can keep it
