				f'in blinker

ok, my right blinker only works when it wants to. it is completely sporadic and random. Thing is, if I move the lever up and down myself it'll look like it's blinking so I am pretty sure it's not the bulb. Anyone have this problem before?

i have the same thing. Sometimes it works and sometimes when i turn it on it just stays lit and thats it. Its only the right blinker tho. My solution - stoped using the right blinker (most of the time).

sometimes if u have tilt wheel the wire can get pinched but it sounds to me like the contacts on switch are going bad (99%) possitive

Or, in your accident you mightve pinched a blinker wire to a piece of metal causing a short. I speakth of experience.

the switch, or the flasher. (the flasher is a little 2 prong thing that plugs in, somewhere in your dash....its what makes the "click click" sound of the blinker.

Is there a way to actually "check" the flasher, or do you just spend $2.99 on a new one for the hell of it?

dude, just replace all the bulbs on the one side, or take em all out and check them, and replace the one that is the worse or the one that doesnt look like its all there. sometimes the bulb is alittle black on the inside, even though its still being lit up, that is a sign of a bad bulb too. when the arrow is on solid, a bulb is ****ed up, its not the flasher. start with the basics. the arrow comes on cuz there isnt enough power passing through one of the bulbs, or a contact isnt touching 100% or something. if it was my car, i would replace all the bulbs for the blinkers (takes like 5 minuets and only costs like 5 bucks) and as i pull each bulb out, bent the little tabs in the socket up abut more to make sure there is a solid connection, then put the new bulb in. i bet thatll fix it.
 EDIT:

yes there is a way to check a flasher, its just a switch, use a power and a ground from a 12v source, connect the one pin to a wire going to ground, and tap the other on the positive terminal, it should click. but like it was said, if the flasher is clicking all the time for the otherside, thats prolly not your problem.

yeah, I'd check the bulbs. A lot of times at work when one blinker isnt working or working way too fast, its a bad bulb. The flasher would mess both sides up. switches dont go bad too often. definitly check the bulbs before anything else, just like mike said.

The bulb is a little black, I just assumed it wasn't that since it blinks too/blinks if i manually go up and down with the stalk. I'll try the bulbs tho, I have the spash guard off from today anyway
