it's one or the other. you either hit 12s or you get 33mpg. they don't have a car (that i know of) that can pull off both. remember, i didn't go looking for this, it came here on its own legs.

and i love a good pissing match every once in a while.

p.s. i still know of only one person who has a modded V6 that runs better than most V8s, but he isn't gettting 33mpg, either.

Yeah that might be true that 4th gen V6's run faster than most 3rd gen V8's BUT my car is a head turner because you can shave looking at my 87 Z28. Yeah its got a piece of **** 305 4bbl V8 but you know what after i did my minor adjustments to my car to make it pass inspection i GET atleast 15-18 MPG's on a 4 bbl carb with 134,XXX miles on it with 93 octane. I work 0.4 miles from work and the last time i put gas in my camaro was Aug. 25th and i drive around in the area of my town. I don't drive it all day long but i do take it out at least 4 or 5 of the 7 days in the week to drive. I KNOW MY V8 IS ASS SLOW AND I DON'T CARE!!!!! you go out and find a pretty much rust free 3rd gen with SOLID floor boards, 1/4 panels and the works for $400 and you come back to me and let me know. My camaro WILL get a work 350(or 383), new trans and new rear because i don't care if i have to put 15-20g's into my car because i'd RATHER spend the money on that car then buy some new Piece of **** fuel efficent honda or toyota to save money on gas. I put blood and sweat into my car and re did it with my father which means my car has more value to me than anything else SO BEAT IT. People can make fun of my car for "not being fast" but you know what i give 2 ****s and a flying **** what people think of it because i know that if i WANT it to be fast i'll MAKE that mother****er fly because I'm one sick mother ****er and i don't care. But i'd rather lay back with a nice car and after all mods are done it'll look good and be quick and thats what i care about.
NJSPEEDER is right arguing on the internet is like the special olympics....i actually think its the dumbest **** to argue on the internet over some HOMO **** but you know what i had just a few captian and cokes and i feel great right now and i've been reading this thread for a while on what people thought and everyone has an opinion and you just got mine. Not for nothing i think using Nitrous takes really BIG nads and the more power to you and everyone else on this forum that uses the bottle.
BUT im a fan of "all throttle no bottle" because my friends dads 69 VW beetle N/A runs 11.10s now all day long on a flat-4......yeah i said it FLAT-4. OH and it uses STOCK VW rear drums to slow down at the end of the track (no front brakes.)

**** he blew cylinder 4 on his old motor and still got over the line at 13.40

Now that everyone has unzipped their virtual fly and waved their junk around, lets all put it away and keep the rest of this thread to discussion of Raif's car.....

Slow-V6, if she wasn't about running her car, why would she bother dynoing it and taking it to the track? people don't do that to show cars. also, i seriously doubt you get 33 MPG with your mods. I owned a '98 Camaro V6, and even with some mild modifications, it barely saw 28-30 MPG on the highway.

as for the 4th gen V6's running faster than 2nd and 3rd gen V8's, that may be true depending on which V8 you're talking about. An LG4 (4-bbl 305) will definitely lose to a 3.8L 4th gen, but an L98 will definitely lay the smack down on an L36. hell, even a decent-condition LB9 will take out a V6 4th gen.

I'm all for V6 performance. I loved my car when I had it, and had big plans for it. Don't get me wrong on that.

the topic of discussion here is the ugliness of the car. It is probably one of the top 5 worst-looking F-bodies ever. Redraif, not to diminish the time and effort you put into the car, but you could have had better taste when it came to the appearance. Â*It is unique and all, but that doesn't make it good-looking. Â*Lord knows how you won trophies with the thing.

However, I will say this: It is your car, and you will do with it as you see fit. If it looks good to you, that's fine. Don't get offended if someone (or in this case, nearly everyone) doesn't like it. Just accept it and move on. There's no need to go around and make a whole big scene because someone said something negative.

and to the other members of this club:

Let's chill out, OK? We should try to be a little more mature, and represent the club respectably. Don't degenerate into mindless internet flamers over something stupid.
I didnt say that 06-02 V6 3rd gens would beat all 3rd gen V8's... An L98 car is a bad ass car, so are the 91-92 305 TPI 5 speeds.. I have owned 3 3rdgens .. 1989 Formula with a 305 TPI auto that ran a 15.8@87mph stock, a 1988 GTA T/A with a 305 TPI 5speed that had shorties, full exaust, and a filter that ran a 15.6@91mph and a 86 camaro 2.8 5speed... I also owned a 1979 Formula with a pontiac 400 4 speed.. That thing ran a 16.34@84mph.. My 1998 ran a 15.4@91 bone stock.. I started all of this **** talking and I apologized.. can we just move on??

Was you V6 a 5 speed or auto?? Was it stock??

my Camaro was an automatic. It had an SLP airlid, i removed the intake resonator and replaced it with a straight tube. I also did some weight reduction to it.

I havent ran my car at the track yet with the new motor... I can tell you last year with a 90 wet shot on my stock motor with the same exaust setup, same intake and with 3.73's I ran a 14.1@102mph.. The car on made 292rwhp and 393rwtq on a 90 shot but the tq only held up ther from 3000-4000rpms and droped off badly.. now Â*with the cam my car makes 400+ tq from 3000 all the way to 5500 and starts to fall off.. But you right the only real way to find out is go to the track.. put it this way 12secondv6 went 12.1@110 with 315rwhp and 380tq and a race weight around 3000lbs..

Thats why you didnt see 30plus miles per gallon on the interstate.. If you would have opened the exaust you would have seen better mpg..

suspension mods..
BMR STB, Edelbrock TQ arm, MAC SFC's, BMR tunnel brace and D/S loop, BMR LCA, and LCA relocation brackets, BMR PHB, Weld prostars, SLP line Lock..

Car dynoed 370rwhp, 415rwtq on a 125 shot with 900psi in the bottle on a STOCK TUNE.. Thats with a 9.8:1 A/F ratio.. I dont want to mess with the tune with the maf plus I am waiting to get HP tuners next month.. I havent had the bottle on the car since that dyno which was in March.. I sprayed 1 bottle through the car since the motor was built and I broke a carrier bearing on my stock rear end.. My car weighs in at 3380 with me in it and 3212 without me in it.. I get 33 mpg on the highway and 25 around town On MOTOR... My bad for talking **** to you.. I should have checked your **** out before hand..

Well now you know 2 people with V6's running faster then V8's which is kinda stupid since a 96-02 v6 f-body will run faster times then alot of 2nd and 3rd gen V8 F-bodies stock...
How can you say that without stating how fast your car runs?
I havent ran my car at the track yet with the new motor... I can tell you last year with a 90 wet shot on my stock motor with the same exaust setup, same intake and with 3.73's I ran a 14.1@102mph.. The car on made 292rwhp and 393rwtq on a 90 shot but the tq only held up ther from 3000-4000rpms and droped off badly.. now Â*with the cam my car makes 400+ tq from 3000 all the way to 5500 and starts to fall off.. But you right the only real way to find out is go to the track.. put it this way 12secondv6 went 12.1@110 with 315rwhp and 380tq and a race weight around 3000lbs..
you arent james enough said...as far as 14.1@102 with a 90 shot Craig(little g) just ran 13.5@100 NA no nitrous, stock block, stock heads, stock cam, stock rockers, stock pushrods,...get the picture? Hit the track run a 12 and shut all the people in the 13's or slower up otherwise please stop talking your making yourself sound worse then you probably are.
