Anyone go to the Philly auto show?

I was there Monday. First thing i did was check out the new Camaro.....in person it looks ever better. I tried prying info out of the guy explaining the car, but he wouldn't budge off of it. I tried to confirm if the SS model would have the LS6, and if the Z28 would have the LS2....he just told me to fill out a suggestion card that would be passed onto higher hands.(yea right) Also asked a girl at the Pontiac booth on the status of the GTO, and she said it will more than likely be released with the Camaro in the summer of '08. And she also confirmed that the Firebird/Trans Am is 100% dead and theres no future plans for it. But its worth the $10 to go check out all those cars. I think its going on till the 11th.

Scott Settlemire (former F-Body Brand Manager) told us last Friday when we were at the auto show for press day that we probably shouldn't expect to see any of the current LSx based V8s in the Camaro in their current form. It won't be released for two more years, so expect GM's engine lineup to change somewhat in that time.

But with the bird it was said outright to never return.

i think they should start calling pontiac the australian car division. :ducks GM fanboi attack: lol
the hole of the RWD coupe is to be filled by teh camaro currently.that is one of the reasons they went to a more stand up style in place of the lower and lower designs of the past. the taller attitude of the car has a broader appeal in american tastes than the low slung roof lines on the 80's and early 90's.

The girl was definately wrong, because the Camaro is not coming out in the summer of '08.

The G8 replaced the Grand Prix. The GP and GTO are definately two different segments...
