Correct surface prep is key to long lasting paint. Well that and the quality of the paint itself.
Good excuse to paint the car white with black graphics to go along with the interior and wheel color.

I USED TO HAVE an 85 Camaro 305 4bbl, 90 Firebird V6, 97 Firebird V6 (10 speakers!). Despite the two family vehicles, 3 kids, wife and mortgage, I can finally realize the dream - 88 TA almost all stock... for now.

Looks like they forgot the flex agent when they painted the bumpers. Did you bump into the car with another car, or some other object?

Idk it didnt chip till i touched it, but I didnt hit it with something but my sister prolly hit it with her car.

Sounds good, I gotta get the car runing first then Ill try to find a better painter or if I can have the car prepped by me and they repaint the car.

bubbles are more often the result of poor surface prep than contact. if it was all spider webbed i would think about someone/something hitting it.
there are some good books out there about doing body work at home. get yourself to borders and see if you can pick one up. doing prep work yourself is cheap and pretty easy. it will also save you a bunch of cash when you do go to get the car repainted, since you won't have to pay shop rate for a few hours of prep work.

I'm sorry to hear/see about the poor quality paint you have on your car........
......but if you recall your first few weeks here, we told you not to take it to Maaco.

its all good, and everyone learns from mistakes, if i could do it over again, I wouldnt even have touched the boddy, I wouldnt have took the car to cottman, and I probably would have cut the cat(so my air wouldnt blow up) off when I got it.

idc about the paint right now, and maaco WILL fix it, with the best materials and painter.

no..... maaco wont fix it... because thats what maaco dose best is screw up cars.. and they are not going to care that your paint is bubbling! my dad knew a guy that used to work at maaco and they only have 15 min between 2 or three guys to do all prep work on the cars including sanding and taping! so moral of story dont go to maaco save your money get a good paint job! but that dose suck for yah man i feel for yah!

Are their any ways of preventing the bubles from getting worse? btw the speedy dry under your car.......... classic lol. Anyway good luck...

That's probably your best bet. If the engine bay is already painted the color you want, and dont see any obvious blemishes, get all the parts dropped back into it, get it running, then repaint the outside later. Since we're talking a daily driver here for you (when you get your license) don't worry about disassembling the car for paint afterward. You've got plenty of time.
