i dont have it anymore but i used to have a Garmin GPS and it worked great
u could save a bunch of favorite locations or search the area ur in for just about anything

it also gives a trip guide with avg speed traveled, top speed hit etc... and an estimated time of arrival which for me has always been dead on to the minute because it adjusts itself if ur driving fast/slow

only thing i found a little iffy was every now and then if i passed a turn i was supposed to make wen recalculating the route it would say "when possible make u-turn" which is a nice way of saying "look around for cops, if theres none there whip a Uee" lol
but i wuld recommend it i worked very well for me

also i if u get pulled over and u were speeding i recommend not having the screen open that shows ur top speed hit
or even just resetting that screen altogether lol

From my experience with a few of them at work. The garmin nuvi 350 works the best but it still a bit pricey. However, you get what you pay for.
On the cheaper models, the system does noy voice prompt the street you need to turn onto. It has it displayed but I would rather keep my eyes on the road. Also, the accuracy of position is important too. Sometimes I would be on the road doing what it wants but it's maybe accurate to 20ft in all directions with the cheaper model...leading to a screw up.

Go with a nice midrange garmin unit and be done with it. I will be purchasing one for my vehicles soon.

my buddy and i bought a returned a couple as road tests. so far the best has been my garmin nuvi 200. i got it for ~330 from electronics expo (ask for internet pricing). lower priced alternatives would be the mio or the magellan. but in the end, garmin owns you

I love my Mio 310, but they just released the new models, so you may not be able to find that model.

I bought the first TOM TOM when they came out like 2 1/2 years ago. It def. gets me where i have to go, but not always the best route. It's got voice activation, save favorites. etc...
Pretty good and I'm sure the new ones are better.

Garmin Nuvi 660 over here and love it. It has so many cool features including bluetooth which is almost a necessity when driving around in the Z.
They retail for $800 but I sell them, can get it to you for ~$640 + tax and shipping

When I got mine it came with a 2007 E350 attached.
I'm quite happy with it.
