If I were you ( and at this point and time he is goign to jsut read over this and not care) I would put a portion of that money to a DD car, sot hat way you can work on your Firebird, and not break stuff all the time, plus it'll have rear brakes. if you put all that money into your car you have now, your a dumber person then I thought. that car should be your hobby, not your main ride. you should do just like what the other half dozen or so of us said. clean the area, put a new piece on there, and keep driving.

Do you have a shortened rear or know the costs of doing it? I definitely think that you would be making a mistake going that route....I would use the money toward an aftermarket rear myself or heads whatever floats your boat..
