When Dodge brought out the Challenger, ALL of them were the SRT8 models which was a great idea and then came the R/T and so forth. Now Chevy is having a HUGE coming out party and what model are they showing, the V/6. At Flemington they only have the ONE 6 cylinder and are going to get all of 8 more Camaros for the rest of the year for STOCK. They do have ONE SS due in, but it is a sold unit and will not be there for some time. ALL this hype and they can't even get their top of the line models out there and for the most part, production is going like frozen mollases.

The vast majority of them (at least in the beginning) are going to customers who pre-ordered their cars. IIRC, of the pre-orders, something like 80-85% were SS cars. First come, first served....

Yeah i did read the replies. Sorry the post aggravated you. But delivery time to the dealers is way too long. Bi Al had a post awhile back with them all sitting in the factory lot. And one dealer having only eight until the end of the year?

All sitting in the factory lot? The first car only rolled off the line less than a month ago.GM isn't looking to have them trickle out. This is going to be a large nationwide release, and I doubt you're buying one so what's your rush?

What's the alternative? They rush them out, they are plagued with defects and rushed workmanship and that further's GM's bad rep?
