A: A netbook is designed for Internet related tasks (hence the name) and is not suitable (much too slow) for general laptop use. If you need to perform light weight word processing, checking e-mail and surfing the 'Net, this is an ideal tool that is light and compact enough to be taken almost anywhere. However, the slow CPU, limited disc storage, and no built-in optical drive make it unsuitable for use as a laptop replacement. The keyboard is also somewhat cramped adding another obstacle for road warriors.

Great for a portable communication station! Those netbooks have great battery life thanks to the SSD + Atom processor.
