And they had a story on there about some guido sounding girl who fell into a 5ft manhole while she was texting The girl and her mother are blaming the city for her accident, and are looking to sue.....wtf, you were texting, your vision was inpaired, thats like a drunk guy blamin the person he ran into because he was in the way...not because he was inebriated and his vision was inparied. I swear to god I cant believe people can file lawsuits like this, this is what is making America so ****ed up.

What happened to the days where a ****ing tree could fall on someone, and you'd go out for a beer, or in her case, go out for a dinner, and call it even? This world is so pussified ( George Carlin ftw) man the **** up, and take responsibility for your fault in the situation, cause I'm pretty sure if your head wasen't in your ass texting, you could of seen the manhole 20 ft. away. Done ranting, now who else here is sick of hearing frivilous suits and unecessary blame on others when they are at fault?

The manhole should have been marked off or closed. Someone is at fault.

They literaly just opened it, and they turned around to go get the cones from the back of the truck. Granted they should of had the cones ready, but its not like they went off to lunch, they just opened it, so how can you not hear 100lbs of metal clanging as its being moved, so either she was listening to an ipod while texting, she was in the txting zone, or she just wasent straight up paying attention. I hope it gets thrown out, If I was a judge I would look at it and laugh a little. These things happen. I love how the media made it sound bad by saying the medical bills are stacking up....all she ot was some cuts and scrapes. And I also love how they said she fell into another world, one mniute walking down the street, the next in a dark, smelly hole....it was 5ft, not 25ft. She suing because of the bills, and cause she lost a shoe. If anybody is sided with this douche, your just as stupid as her.

And no matter what the outcome is, it will be a waste of time and money for people to show up for the court stuff. That's what really pisses me off. People trying to sue because nobody wants to earn a living anymore. So they inconvenience everyone else. I can't tell you how many people I saw walking around at the beach yesterday texting away or staring at their cell phones and just walking right into an intersection without looking!

Bill Maher put it best, everybody now a day now thinks of getting something for nothing, Just like Paris Hilton, she's nothing, she had a sex tape, and became this star....but she Did nothing, She comes from a rich family, thats all. She's not even hot, she's just a rich slut, and yet they made a tv show, and show her off to have little girls idle her, and why, because shes someone who got something for nothing, rediculous.

Jeff, all you said there couldn't be truer, and I hate to sound like this, but not only is it a waste of time for the courts, but it also affects us, especially if she were to win...which so god help us if a judge decides that.

I don't know, I don't doubt or argue one bit that she isn't an idiot or a ditz, but the city is definitely at fault no matter how you put it. They shouldn't walk away from something like that if it can cause danger for someone.

Just on 94.5/97.5 The Hawk when it was out of the Princeton area. I think they are still on 105.7 or 99.9.

Nah, FB&HW Is based out of Michigan now, they used to be in Manahawkin, which is where I work, so I get them in on 105.7. You can still get them podcasted I guess.

+1. Although the city may be at fault because they didnt mark it off...the girl is also dumb for not watching where she was walking. i also dont understand how people cant just give in and admit they did something very dumb.

and odds are shes not going to just go after her medical bills for reimbursement (if there even were any) shes probably going to be trying to make a profit.

As one of my co workers said, it probably won't even see the courts, they'll most likely settle out, although the ball might of been in the mother/daughter's field a little better by not tellign the media, use it as leverage to get more out of them, but now that thas out of the bag, they'll settle the bills and some extra for the inconvience.

plain and simple. cities fault. precautions like cones and markers are made just because of the fact that people are dumb, careless and walk right into certain danger.
