			The only thing I dislike about the newer diesels is all the emmision control on them between cats and other things that make the exhaust so intensely hot. 			Unfortunately, I don't think you'd be able to write a truly 'complete' review of the 3500 without being able to put it through its paces. You can drive it around empty all you want, but the true purpose for most 1 ton truck owners is to tow or carry a heavy load. Of course, if it sucks empty, it probably sucks loaded down. But that's probably not the case. It would be cool to know how well the new engine braking option works as well. 
 
It would also be cool to know how it would compare to a similarly-equipped f-350 and dodge 3500. Maybe you could include in your writeup how much it would be to get into each truck with similar equipment.

 It is true BS. Especially since a diesel will emit less HC and CO than a similarly sized gas engine. I believe these requirements have been the biggest obstacle for auto manufacturers to bring diesel versions of their cars to America from overseas.

			newer diesel have more emissions on them yes, but aftermarket manufacturers are already caught up with that, there is plenty of ways to bypass the DPF, CAT, or whatever else you want to.
