550 hp 590 tq twin turbo v8.... and 33 mpg
This is the new mercedes 5.5L twin turbo v8.... it replaces the 6.3L N/A v8
Standard is 518 hp, 516 tq, 0-60 in 4.4 sec and 155 mph top speed
AMG Performance Package gets you the 550 hp, 590 tq, 0-60 in 4.3 sec and 186 mph top speed
The amg performance package will get a combined 24 mpg and up to 33 mpg highway.
I can't wait to see what the aftermarket tuners can do!

Awesome performance, not digging the hood/front bumper...too square at the grille, reminds me of a Charger lol

There's a kid with a C63 AMG here at SHU and that thing sounds nasty for a stock vehicle, I turn my head everytime he starts it up. While I don't like the looks, they're pretty sweet cars.

meh dont really like the style. those are the only number they can turn out of a 5.5l tt v8? guess they figured if they unlocked all of it, there would be to many rich people dead. im more of a audi guy, even though im all for macho styling mercedes can never nail down a nice grill

Numbers are great, but putting it into a silver Titanic, not so bueno. And it's really not necessary if its limited to 155 always ( I know jeremy always talks about how if the limiter was off they could get north of 190-200mph, and the car cant handle it) I know they have the SLS but I want them to bring out another show stopper, another CLK GTR, put that motor in it, and bring a whole new generation of poster cars for the young kids, to me the SLR was dumb, and nothign more then a joint venture of Mercedes and Mclaren to show the public whatthey can bring together. To me they target the AARP card holding crowd. ( with exception of the SLS  )
I also understand they sell these engines (V12) to Pagani, and look what they have become, the note they emit (Zonda R  ) So come on Mercedes, lets see what you got, I know these V12 the V8's make a symphony that put any American V8 to shame.
Sauber Mercedes C11 anybody......excuse me, got to go watch some youtube, and realize how empty my life is until I see one of them in person....

It seems that the author got confused....the car is not rated at 33 MPG. It's rated at 16/21, which is a 33% increase in mileage over the previous version.

that angle looks pretty good. i'm not really sure the front end's straighter lines really flow with the rest of the body's curvature

Well, one could consider that a fail on my part - I read it here first:

Specifically: AMG chief Ola Källenius says despite the power boost, the CLS63 AMG will get a combined 24 mpg in everyday driving, and hit some 33 mpg on the highway. Part of that increase also comes from the 7-speed DCT transmission, with four separate modes, including a manual stage that Källenius says is a perfect mimic of a true hand stirrer.
I must say, Mercedes extremely underrates their high performance vehicles - time and time again Mercedes owner's toss them on the dyno and the rwhp and rwtq is way too close to the advertised flywheel HP and TQ.
I'm on my 9th benz and I have always gotten anywhere from 2 to 9 more mpg than the advertised figures..... but I cannot dispute the manufacture's "official" position
Well, time will tell and maybe I can get my hands on one.

A lot of it is how you drive...I've hit 24 mpg in my Exploder and averaged a smidge over 17 mpg rarely going on the highway, less than 10% of the time if that since I got it 60k miles ago.
It's rated at a mere 15/20.
