JB Weld Saves the Day Again

I recently purchased an 88 GTA. Its the car I brought with me to the meet on sunday. Unfortunately it had a broken hatch motor in the stuck up position and seems to be a common problem on thirdgens. You can see it stuck up in that pic
After doing some research, asking around and listening to others fixes I decided to gut the motor off the assembly and JB Weld up the tracks. Ive had great success with JB in the past, even welding up a small hole in a trans pan on a Taurus, so I figured I'd give it a shot.

I marked off the assembly, eyed up from the interior where the latch would go and marked the body in the round about area I saw....cause those of you that met me know Im not fitting in a hatch!

This is where I ended up at...I like hearing JB weld stories, if you have some toss em in.

A Perfect Fit!!!! Thanks to everyone that answered me in regards to the rear hatch motor components. It sure helped me out in a pinch for money |

I was changing a O2 sensor on my ranger about 5 years ago. I took a look at my oil pan and saw some fish scalling on it. I tapped on it, which brought some of the rust off, but also created a pin oil size leak. this is 10 at night, everywhere is closed. Luckily my friend had some JB in his box. We made a batch, cleaned off the area as best as we could, and slapped it up there. 5 years later it's holding just fine.

JB Weld has saved me a couple times. I broke the ear off a thermostat housing on an '86 2.8 firebird. You can't get these housings anymore. I used the JB Quick too, because I needed it fixed ASAP. It lasted for about 6 months, until I was able to get one from the junkyard. No leaks either. I probably could have left it.
 Sweet car, by the way
