Looks like the Camaro is faster around this particular road course but the power difference doesn't seem to make a bigger impact.

The Camaro seems to have the superior chassis and brakes and general refinement. The extra power in the ZL1 seems to make up for it's weight disadvantage.
PRICE AS TESTED Camaro $56,465 Mustang $48,100

What is that new 650 HP mustang gonna cost?

that mustang is ugly in those colors. ricer nonsense. this is better looking

2012 GT500 had base price of $49,605 but I wouldn't be surprised if it goes up to the 50s with these changes.

I expect it to out price the ZL1. Sad thing is most of the ZL1s and '13 GT500 will be scooped up by wealthy collectors and never driven to their potential.

Does Ford say anything about the Laguna Seca being track ready like GM does for the ZL1?
GM quotes the owner's manual for the GT500 as saying it's not ready for track use.

 | Boss LS comes with a roll cage and a "track key".

Also the fact that you need to pay extra for said programing

It's a Ford, so it will have some glaring defect right up front. After they get that worked out maybe it will beat the ZL1.

[edit] Matt beat me to it. Wonder if the '13 GT500 will mention anything.

 | Whopty do, still "track ready".

You build a performance variant of a sports car, put in race-ready stuff, claim all these things, and then say "well, it's not track ready" will only net you a bunch of these
