lol. I feel bad for our one customer who has a gorgeous ZL1. 1 of 1 with chambered exhaust. Was a 1.2 million dollar car before the economy tanked.

69 Yenko Novas are extremely rare and still hold their value. You won't be able to buy one for under $400-500K any time soon. The last I heard, the ZL1 1 of 1 car was still worth over $1 million as several people were trying to buy it. I think it sold at auction for well below $1 million a couple of years ago unless it has changed hands recently that I did not hear about.

It's only worth what someone will pay. Rarity doesn't mean it's worth $500,000. If he can get that, good for him. I wouldn't put out that money, even if I had it.

The prices for stuff like this vary all the time. The T-K Chevelle depreciated one millon dollars over 3 years.

Guys had the car for quite a few years. Shop did it before i started working there. Had no idea it was a 1 of 1 until they disassembled it and found the tank sheet called for chambered exhaust. Just saw it this summer so I know hes still got it.

Some guy on Craigslist always has "rare" Nova stuff for sale. Asks outrageous prices for everything including cars. I get a good laugh every couple of weeks reading the ads.

I'm thinking of the Blue RS ZL1 which I know the guy has been offered over $1 million for. Rare, high performance cars and parts are still bringing big money and the better the documentation and matching numbers the higher the demand. But whatever you do, don't look at auction results as if they are real world numbers, they aren't.

Nothing outrageous about his prices, have you seen a real 1968 Nova L78 car for sale recently? They didn't make many and they were the fastest of the 396 Novas so they bring more money.

Yeah, I am pretty sure the RS/ZL1s are the $1 million cars. #59 is certianly very cool with the chambered exhaust and 4-speed, but I dunno about $1 million. Jim @ HBC was asking that for his 1 of 1 Fathom green car and did not come close.

FWIW my NOS super sport bars and foil badges are worth around $500, and I'm not a 396 car. The "SS" console emblem and dash emblems are $150 each. Ridiculous, yes. Worth it, probably hell no unless the car is real.

I don't think Jim's car is number's matching so that hurts a bit. Others will argue that original engine in a ZL1 doesn't matter because there is great GM paperwork on all the cars so they are definitely ZL1's. Luckily, I don't have the money to buy a ZL1 with or without the original engine so it doesn't matter to me.

Not bruised in the least. 
A lot of these cars are up for sale the day a new owner signs the title. They are ALWAYS on the market looking for the next buyer. If we are talking about the same guy, Dan has been selling his two Novas for years, but not actively as he doesn't need to let them go. Another guy (Jason Hale) sold his '68 L78 for the same price Dan is asking, but his was a different (rarer) combination.

Last time I spoke to Dan it wasn't active at least...
He is a real purist so I wouldn't be surprised if the ads reflect value in details nobody else gives a crap about.
