Chris, consider a rescue if no one picks the dog up. They are non-euthanizing facilities that cater to certain dog breeds and will find suitable homes thru their multitude of contacts. They have ones for pits, collies, am-staffs, etc..all breeds and a pit that is good w/people and dogs will be easy to find a home for....just google a facilities for nj.
