Race Wars IV 2014 - Planning/Scheduling
It is that time of year! After 3 successful Race War events at Atco, we will give this another go. Last year was one of our best track rentals. We had a huge turnout (25 cars) full of quick/fast cars and support from the NJFBOA staff. The weather was excellent and many folks set new bests (one person did so running on 7 cylinders). Some broke in glorious fashion but all in all, most had a great time.
For those of you not aware, I like to plan early so we can set a good date in the fall/winter. A non-refundable deposit is required on my end so in a couple weeks, I will contact Atco and get some available dates. The November time frame seemed to be the most ideal while staying away from Thanksgiving and Black Friday. The rental last year was on a Monday and I think this worked out great for most. Racers had the opportunity to prep the car all weekend. Friday rentals aren't bad but prepping during a busy work week can be tough for some.
If you are interested in the rental, feel free to send me a PM or post in this thread so I can contact you once the finer details need to be finalized. Any folks looking to come and watch are welcome. Volunteers are also welcome.
One item we lacked last year was solid photography and video. We had many great cars show up and not much multimedia to show for it. This year I will be dedicated to making sure this is much improved.
This is a discussion thread so feel free to make any constructive comments. Does anyone have any major plans for their car?
General Details: Date TBD -Location: ATCO RACEWAY
- Rental starts at 9:30AM and ends at 4:30PM
- No street tires. You must be running a drag oriented tire
- $20 non-refundable per person/car deposit required ($200 total deposit required to book the date)
- $180 balance due at the rental per person/car
- 10 cars required
- Proper safety gear required
- Food arrangements will be coordinated (Costs to spectators/racers will be determined)
- If the weather is poor, the rental will be rescheduled.

im interested. im looking to get in the high 8s on spray this year. if its not to late in the season, i wouldnt mind running with you guys. im also looking for an atco rental earlier if anyone knows of one. im just waiting on my nitrous permit to show up so i can fill my bottle.
