upgraded to a double din touchscreen

ive been wanting to do this for a while, i figured i'd share. the install was a piece of cake besides figuring a way to get the steering wheel control module to work (after market product). crutchfield was great at setting me up with everything and took only 2 days to ship. i was going to buy a double din bezel from 6le for like $50.00, but the package deal i got from crutchfield the bezel was only about $10. the steering wheel control adapter, bezel, harness, and head unit all together costed me about $300 and i couldnt be more happy about how it turned out. it makes such a big difference in appearance inside the car and it is fun to play around with.
before

after

it even plays dvd's too..the picture quality is amazing for the unit being so small.

Looks great. I like the look of the double din units but with my vert, I anticipate the screen will get washed out by the sun. I may make the jump at some point with an android auto unit.

I haven't personally experienced that yet. this unit actually supports android devices too.

Nice. I had a kenwood dd in my car first, but along with taking so insanely long to boot up and being tempermental, i put a pioneer in.

This was one of my favorite mods to the car. Side note: I didn't know Crutchfield sold a DD bezel for us--I'll have to look into that!
 Your set up looks great!

 | I wonder if the crutchfield kit requires cutting out that plastic crosspiece above the hvac controls also..

 | yes they do. i thought my only option was 6le and the bezels there were 50 bucks for a crappy one. luckily crutchfield sold one, with the package i got it was only like 10 bucks.
