i just realized....

that I hate working with people who knows absolutely nothing about cars......... like all they know is to put gas in it, and get an oil change, and whatever their mechanics tell them they should do.

I mean.... I work for a car company............at the very least, you should know the basics about cars......like fluids, fuse box, tires, etc. I hate explaining **** to them, and all i get is a blank stare....and have to end up explaniing things 4 or 5 times for them to even remotely understand the concept.

i'm just gonna go hang myself.

Unfortunately thats about 99.5% of the US population, and probably close to 80% of the people who actually work with cars, minus the mechanics.

"That's the accelerator."

"The what?"

"The accelerator. The pedal that makes the car go."

"Oh you mean the gas pedal? So why does this car have two brake pedals?"

"Uh... thats the brake pedal and thats the clutch."

"Wow, they still make those?"

Yep, a real conversation about 4 years ago.

Social Networks:

Welcome to America. Another real life example of how we are so far behind the rest of the world. I love this country but our government is ruining the people.

An explanation: I have a few cousins in Italy (and this goes for all EU countries), the "driving school" classes that the teens get are not just to drive, you have to learn how to change the oil, change a tire, fill antifreeze, clear clogged fuel line, etc. And this is all part of the driving test!

Now, as most of you have seen from movies or shows, the required class doesn't do much for their driving but everyone I have met over there can tell you the basics about a car. And yes - EVERYONE knows how to drive a car with a frazione. um sorry, clutch. They still make them there.

Another word on Europeans driving - If you ever go, you will feel right at home. Everyone in Europe drives just like us! 8)

Tell me about it. One guy I work with just does it for the paycheck, and knows NOTHING about a car, or what a car needs. Im not asking to be a specialist, but at least understand what is what on a car. He understands one thing, and thats how much he is gunna make off the deal.

Here's the one question that pushed me over the edge, saturday nite.

In our SL class (mercedes) there's a red button INSIDE the trunk, that you press and it would make the hardtop lift up so you can load/unload stuff. This happens when the top is stowed in the trunk. so the idea is, you press the button it lifts the top up.....you load/unload....press the button again and it lowers the top...then you close the trunk.............simple idea.

this girl ask what this button does, so i explain it like i did above........she then ask.....if this works when the trunk is closed..................i just gave her a stare.........eventually she left my office....
