dont EVER work for family!!
I'm trying to set up a schedule and make a new logo for Island Dragway and I thought I had a logo that he (my dad, the manager) liked, I'm now 7 hours into it, and he tells me he hates it. I need to call 30+ advertisers and have a schedule to show them before I leave for california on Sunday. Now I'm back to square one and can't make a friggen schedule with no logo. I can't even escape, becuase I live with my boss! OMFG i'm gonna explode. I think I need a drink. Or 9.

yeah, as of yet, not done, i stopped because im fed up. i was going to add a dragster silouette in the space with a chute pulled, facing the left, but now that he doesn't like it, i dont know. Maybe he'll change his mind again in the morning. I'm going out to shoot some pool to get the hell outta here.

nto sure what i think of it. i can see where you were going with the palm tree thing, but it is a dragstrip so i am not sure how that fits. maybe if i saw it with the dragster.
maybe just strip the palm tree off the top, the font is still very cool, and do an old slingshot dragster silouette across the background.

Maybe have the trunk of the tree like the starting line tree with lights and stuff. I like the idea, but I think it needs a bit more drag racing theme. And I hear ya on the drinks.

I skipped out last night, played some pool for a few hours, ignored the whole thing for the rest of the night and now i gotta go work on it again. Hopefully I come up with something he decides he likes and keeps liking.

Ian, the only reason i didnt want to do that is cause Atco's got their 't' as a tree.
And steve, be careful before you offer, i can drink a lot... lol it's not cheap to buy booze for me, thats why i don't go to bars

What about having the I in island turn into a drag strip.. kinda like this:

I cant stand my family as it is! but Id work for them because I need $$ for a 350 its either get money for it or I need my engine to blow so I can be like ok lets just get a 350

That's a good idea, but the problem with a logo is it needs to look as good small as it does enlarged, and needs to be used for any type of application, including being cut in vinyl. It needs to be able to be as small as business card sized (about 1" square in the corner of a card) or as big as a few feet. It's hard coming up with ideas that will do that, but I'm working on it. Luckily he liked my schedule layout, which i was surprised by, now I just need to finish the damn logo to put on it.
