				Auto vs. Manual???

Ok you wake up and God himself is standing in your bedroom. He says he has no more room for either of his 1970 SS Chevelle 454 and he will give you one of them. One is a Turbo 400 and the other is a M-22. Split second decision. Which do you take?
I ask because I have been brought up thinking that muscle cars were synonomyous with manual transmissions. Cause, they are, i dunno, preformance cars and not minivans. However I am surprised of the fan base for Automatics. Not sure why, unless people want to get a nano second more out of their 60" time the 3 times you bring it to the track that year, you still have to be stuck with a stupid dumb azz auto for the rest of the time you drive your car. Im just curious who preffers what and why? That and im extreemly bored at work today...

I love my GTP but I hate the fact that it's auto even more than I do that it's FWD. A good friend of mine sold his 2000 Z28 because the auto was too boring. One of the bitches that people have about the new Chargers is that they are auto only.

An auto is more consistent and faster when you are drag racing, but aside from that it's dull on the street IMO. A manual valve body and ratchet shifter make it better.

that depends on if I'm going to be racing it or not. If I'm racing it, 400. If not, manual, definitely.

the only reason i bought an automatic car is because it was too good a price to pass up. The 6-Speeds especially the LS1 6-speeds seem to go for alot more

member insomnia took me for a ride in his auto LS1 the other day and it has some balls for sure, couple that with a 3600 stall and it pulled hard so I dont knock them im just saying my personal prefferance for a preformance street car leans towards a manual. I always thought it would be hard to drive in europe with my left hand doing the shifting.

If dropped on my lap, Auto or Manual... I would go for the Manual. I'm sure it would be a blast to drive. For me I'm not an all out drag racer so I'd be content with my manual trans for cruising the strip and what not.

I'm not a drag-racer, so for me, there's no question - Manual! Putting the 5-speed in my Monte was one of the best mods I made; it's SO much more fun to drive.

Thats my own personal problem right now, my auto lt1 z28 is hell of a lot faster and more fun then my manual tbi rs but the rs is more fun to drive. I would got for the manual chevelle.
