dot matrix

Im sure this is in another post somewhere, but ima ask anyway.

Whats the best way to get the dot matrix off the t-tops.

Sand and buff?
Some kinda solvent?
Something else i cant think of?

any help on this would be helpful. this matrix thing is pissin me off and id like to get rid of it

93-94 only IIRC
I had a hell of a time trying to find a dot matrix t-top when I smashed one on my 94, eventually gave up and had to use one that was just tinted.

Pick up a set without them and sell yours - prob wont be too hard.

I doubt a razor blade will do the job and sanding them off without harming the glass would be next to impossible.

well i've thought bout using a da sander and progressively stepping down the paper to 2000 and then rubbing compound and glaze to bring the glass back. just wana see if anyones done this...even if you screwed it up. id like to know so i know wat not to do. Im very good at body work so i know how to properly sand and buff..but will it work is the question....i have a spare passenger t-top to practice on, so any and all ideas welcome

Seems like an awful lot of work, when you can just swap with someone else who doesn't have the dot matrix for an even trade, no?

yea i feel that. but for 2-3hrs worth of work vs. prob a couple of weeks of searching for tinted ones. Idk, if i came across a pair i prob would just trade. but i like doing work and figuring things out, even if its the hard way

sell your dot matrix t-tops to someone trying to get correct ones for their car, and buy a set of regular ones(95+). Those are everywhere, I have 2 sets but trying to sell as whole ttop conversion kits. By doing that you get the look you want and can even put a few bucks in your pocket. sanding glass is very risky and you'll never get them 100% again.
