I thought 93's had the 4l60, not the 4l60e. that would mean its a mechanical driven speedo. you might need a new gear. someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

SLP made these calibration boxes, they stopped making them a long time ago...you may be able to pick one up for less than 100 bucks, i think fastbird had an extra he was trying to sell....if you cant find any, dakota digital makes a box, ~150 bucks iirc

It's sorta electrically controlled. It should have a pair of speedo gears in the tranny, but the signal is sent electronically from the trans (just like a late 3rd gen). I would assume that swaping the rear gears would be the easiest/cheapest way to do it.

Remove the driveshaft, remove the tail shaft, drain fluid out, get a new seal if you need it for the tail shaft, replace gears, and go. Total cost with gaskets was like $19 if I remember correctly. It was only $15 for the 2 gears I needed.

ok, there is one bolt holding the speedo in...take the bolt out, unplug the speedo, pull the speedo out, put the new one in, but the bolt back in, plug it back in. its that simple, dont atke off the tailshaft housing and all that crap, it takes 2.5 mins and shouldnt take any less.

That only works if you only have to change one of the gears. If you have to change both gears to get the desired ratio, you have to pull the tailhousing.
