Electric fan help
Does anyone know how to "jump" the electric fan. It didn't turn on the other day and I want to test it to make sure it still works.

Theoretically, the hot should already be at the realy, so no need for the battery lead.
You could just check the connections with a test light & see if they have power...starting back at the relay.
Calhoon, if you don't know what these things mean, be very very careful. Ask Wayfast about engine fires.

are you talking about jumping it so that it just comes on when you turn the key?
if so, just take the ground wire off the switch on the pass side head and screw it onto any piece of metal under the hood.
GM fans are ground switched, so all you gotta do is ground it to turn it on.

Tim, I would do that but I replaced the fan switch last year and for the life of me can't remeber how I wired it up. (it's really to hot to think). I think I'll just try the test light, now I just have to find it.

Tim's right, GM fan switches complete the ground.
