For less than $170 I couldn't resist

A: A netbook is designed for Internet related tasks (hence the name) and is not suitable (much too slow) for general laptop use. If you need to perform light weight word processing, checking e-mail and surfing the 'Net, this is an ideal tool that is light and compact enough to be taken almost anywhere. However, the slow CPU, limited disc storage, and no built-in optical drive make it unsuitable for use as a laptop replacement. The keyboard is also somewhat cramped adding another obstacle for road warriors.

Great for a portable communication station! Those netbooks have great battery life thanks to the SSD + Atom processor.

Got one of these for my girlfriend last christmas, but it was the Lenovo S10 model. Good computer and she uses it for all sorts of stuff for school. Keeps up with her needs rather well.

You CAN get laptops for 300+ with CD drives though so choose wisely if you ever look to get one of these.

Yeah I picked up a very good cheap laptop last summer for ~$379-a best buy gift card I had so they are out there, but I wasn't buying this netbook for myself, it was mainly for my oldest daughter to go online with so she doesn't need to bug me every two seconds to use my laptop to go to nick.com
