what would you say my motor would go for
The block is an older style block off a 70’s Nova. Bored .030 over, 355ci. The heads are World Sportman II’s 202 64cc. Comp cam XE 274, It has a Holley performance intake, Barry Grand 750 cfm double pump carburetor. Edelbrock tall valve covers and air filter cover, JEGS roller rockers. K&N filter. Four TRW forged valve relief pistons, GM pink rods, GM crankshaft, ARP bolts in the bottom and the top end. Most parts have less than 1,500 miles on them...
just trying to gauge a price maybe i can go a different way with my car. thanks for any help in advance.

I'd say write down what you have invested into it and cut that price in half... That's probably a realistic starting point for it's value.

Might be worth more in parts. Maybe.

You really dont know if those are forged pistons arp bolts pink rods or what in that motor. YOU didnt built it the guy who sold you the car did, you truelly dont KNOW exactly what motor you got their if its worth a pretty penny or not. Find out if its a 4 bolt block.
Id part it out tho. Once ur down to a short block youll be able to pull it apart slightly and possibly find out what rods and pistons are actually in it.
Really tho FIX IT and sell it for good money dude. Take it to a reputable shop and have them find out. A good reputable shop will fix it right and may even work out a payment plan with you in case your hard pressed on cash...this way you can sell a good running car and get your money out of it.

Flat top pistons with 4 valve reliefs. The "eyebrow" style. Without reciepts you will have a tough time getting top dollar. You will either have to take a $ hit since you can't prove what you own or you will have to pull the timing cover and oil pan to show the cam, mains, and pistons.

Motors are always worth more in parts than they are complete - unless you're buying from an engine builder. Typically people don't fork out the cash to build a motor only to sell it for no good reason. There is usually an underlying problem or it doesn't perform as expected... Nobody wants to buy other people's potential problems unless it's one hell of a good deal.
