i gotta wrap my whole exhaust can anyone make any suggestions on which brand works well.

Trying to hold heat in for the turbo?

Wrap is a death sentence for your exhaust - it traps moisture and keeps it next to the pipes, allowing it to rust away at an accelerated rate.

i was talking to sts's tech guy this morning and he was saying along with switching back to stock manifolds wraping my exhaust as well as a turbo blanket will greatly improve hp as well as turbo lag and lack of boost. what if you coat the exhaust first?

IMO, if you have the exhaust coated, there were be a greatly reduced need for the wrap. Coatings like Jet-Hot are designed to keep the heat inside the pipes.

I'm not expert on turbo systems, but I would think that getting your headers and Y pipe coated would show a nice improvement, and help keep heat down in the engine bay too.

You would have to get a quote from Jet-Hot for it - when I got a quote a few years ago to have my headers done I would have had to ship 'em to Arizona I believe.

There is a shop down in this area that does coatings too, but I don't know how it compares to Jet-Hot, or what their warranty is like (Jet-Hot offers a lifetime warranty). The place down here is called Johnson's Powdercoating: http://www.johnsonspowdercoating.com/

North Carolina is the closest place to ship them from NJ. I just got a quote for them just short of $400. Expect to pay right around that much

The turbo is 12 feet away from the source of the pressure, there is nothing you can do to substantially improve the lag... Wrapping the exhaust, even if coated, witll make it rust out quickly on a street car. Race cars dont see the moisture and other conditions the street driven cars do..
