DD power window problem

i know this is an fbody forum but all the dumb guys on the honda forums cant help me and this seems like a general problem on my daily driver, maybe you guys can help who work on cars for a living or just have good knowledge.

car is a 96 civic...recently the power windows just stopped working. checked the fuses, theyre good, opened up the door panel everything is ok in there. a few nights ago i was messing with these wires in the door jam and that made the driver side window work, so i figured a loose wire, but the passenger side window still doesnt work and the power lock doesnt work.

but a few days ago the driver side stopped working again, and now nothing is making it go up. i have no idea where to go from here. anybody have any input? id appreciate it thanks in advance

Have you tried jumping the power leads on the motor to get the window back up?

could be a bad switch, all of them dont work from the drivers door buttons? will the buttons on the other doors do anything?

I like the way justin thinks...first I would make sure the motors are working. One, it is not un common for them to go out of nowhere, had it happen to me and swore up and down it wasn't possible but was the case. Two, it is a 14 yr old car so very weol might be the case

well the window is stuck in the closed position. but i havent tried jumping the motor, i didnt think it would be the problem. like njbadss said, i didnt think they could just go without showing any signs of going, but ill try that tomorrow. but what would be the odds of the drivers and passenger side going at the same time..

the windows dont work from either of the switches, passenger or driver. also an unusual thing is the passenger door doesnt lock from the master switch either. maybe ill try swapping out the switches..but im not quite sure why the driver side window would work if i toggled with the wires in the door jam..who knows. ill jump the motor tomorrow and borrow a switch from a friend of mine. thanks for the help so far..

sounds like the Driver side switch is bad or has bad connection or bad ground.....hondas were known for window trouble, even the manual ones
