Bracket Classes

Drivers/Participants/Attendees meeting in the grandstands at noon
Racing starts right after that.

General Rules for Bracket Classes

Bracket classes will be run of a .500 Sportsman tree, Autostart will be active, no crosstalk ~ Blue light.

Technical Inspection: All vehicles in competition must pass the Island Dragway NHRA technical inspection for the E.T. and M.P.H. they run. Class specific rules (DOT tires, electronic etc) will be performed by the NJFBOA race officials, cars can be rechecked at random).

Racing rules

1) All racing will be random pairing.

2) If odd number of cars bye will be pulled using previous round’s best reaction time. Racer will only be allow one earned bye, following byes will drop down to next best light.

3) Once the round starts, the cars in the lanes are considered paired, if opponent cannot make the call to the line the paring will be moved to the end of the class. If a that time the car still cannot make the call it will be deemed an unearned bye for his/her opponent. Other classes will not be held up.

Staging

1) Courtesy staging should be followed! (Both cars must be prestaged before either competitor can move into the stage beam).

2) Deep staging is allowed. It is the drivers responsibility to get in deep! The track will not hold the tree for a deep stager.

3) It is the racer’s responsibly to clearly write their CAR NUMBER AND DIAL-IN on the car (front window on the Passenger side and Driver side window) AND the driver is responsibly to verify their dial-in is correct BEFORE staging. if your dial-in is wrong DO NOT PRESTAGE! Once prestaged the dial-in for that car stands as is!

Body: Must be a Camaro or Firebird. Aftermarket panels allowed

Prize Fund: Cash Fund TBA

Class Specific rules


Street Bracket

Street Bracket Cars must have DOT tires and Muffler(s):

ET restriction: The Street Bracket is for cars dialing in an ET of 11.50 or slower. Any competitor going quicker then 11.50 will be DQ’d for any reason, opponent foul etc will still result in a DQ, double brakeout under 11.50 = both cars DQ'd,

Electronics: None allowed! (two step, transbrake, throttle stop, delay box are all prohibited) If equipped they must be made inoperable/disconnected. All cars must launch from the foot brake/foot clutch only.

Engine: Any automotive type engine

Transmission: Any automotive type automatic or H-pattern manual transmission. No planetary, clutchless shift, air shifted, or Lenco type transmissions allowed.

Exhaust: No open headers! All cars in this class must have working mufflers that exhaust can pass through (Turn downs or cutouts must be further back then the driver’s seat.)

Chassis/Suspension: Suspension is limited to stock style: Bolt on components only. After market torque arms allowed, Ladder bars, Air bags, bolt in replacement K-members, LCA relocation brackets are acceptable. No four link type suspensions.

Tires: Tires must be DOT, Radial or bias, any size allowed.


Pro Dial Bracket

ET Restriction: None!

Engine: Any automotive type engine

Transmission: Any automotive type automatic or H-pattern manual transmission. No planetary, clutchless shift, air shifted, or Lenco type transmissions allowed. Transbrake acceptable.

Exhaust: Muffled or open exhaust acceptable.

Electronics: Transbrake and two step allowed - No throttle stop, delay box or bracket racing aid/ET controller allowed.

Chassis/Suspension: Any rear suspension is acceptable, stock style, back halved, tubbed cars are all acceptable. Bolt in replacement K-members are acceptable.

Tires: No restrictions!

NJFBOA reserves the right to alter the rules as it deems necessary.
