New Seats, how to test them out?
I got new power seats from a different model car that I am modifying to fit. I want to know how I could test them out in my garage. What can supply me with a 12 volt power supply that I can connect to the wire and see if the seat will move? Will a computer power supply work?

Jump Pcak or Car Battery would be the easiest way.

Directly from a car battery? No fuse?

I've tested seat motors out of the car with a 10 amp battery charger. No fuse, no load (as in empty seat). Initial spike is the big amp draw

Feather-light suspension, Konis just couldn't hold. I'm so glad I took a look inside your showroom doors.

Yup. Battery charger. If you want, make test leads- one ground, one hot lead with an inline fuse.

Well, when I pulled it out of the attic, I realized the alligator clips had been cut off. Odd. Anyway, I used it and it worked. The seat moved and it works. I'm gonna keep this thing and add an inline fuse for this purpose. Thanks for the great idea guys! The seats are nearly done!!

I usually test my seats out by jumping up & down on them, kicking em around the garage a few times, and taking a nap on them. if they hold up after that.... I put em in the car!
