Convertible top replacement?

I was looking at a convertible that has a few rips in the top. Before I make an offer I need to know how much money it would cost to replace the entire top on a 4th gen. How hard is it to do it myself?

To have a good shop do it you're probably looking 800-1000. Don't even bother attempting it yourself....tops are a job best left to those who do them everyday. I don't even touch them.
